So my new favorite food, one that I actually remember enjoying when we lived in Canada (when I was a child) is CRUMPETS. Think of Swedish Memory Foam if it were edible - it's the loveliest, spongiest yet pancake like thing you can have. It's not sweet, but like pasta and bread, it has the best mouth-feel (that's a technical term, I'll have you know, something we use in the coffee biz) and toasted with butter with cup of tea is the best snack ever!!!!!!

I always wondered what crumpets were.
