Lazy Morning

Just chillin', waiting for Mom to get her act together and take me out.

Mom, are you almost done with your 3rd cup of tea? Legs...are...crossed...

LATER...

Went potty - check!
Ate - check!
Drank - check!
Barked at neighbors - check!
Rode in hot car with mom to Starbucks (again) - check!
Naptime on cool kitchen floor - definitely! !!!!

What's wrong with American edu-macation?

For any of you non-Americans out there reading this, this is for you (since virtually all of us have seen this and laughed already). Check out this video (Warning: may not be suitable for those afraid of public speaking as this will only create nightmares.)

Indian Summer

I had a great time in Phoenix last week, where I stayed for a few days. I got to hang with my girl Marti, see friends and sweat a lot! At least there was AC in the hotel. Speaking of hotels, while the customer service was great, the amenities...not so much: broken water mains, broken AC (in 2nd room I was moved to after water break), no water and broken phone in 3rd room (after being moved after 2nd room's AC was bad) and an iffy internet connection. So while the rate was good., this supposedly 3 star hotel just didn't cut it. I won't name it but it rhymes with Willenium Hotel. Loved seeing the kids - they were so great!

I'm down to the last 3 weeks of college. Three more weeks of these frustrating assignments (somehow incorporating everything I've learned at university in my papers is what this course seems to be about...that and this weird thing called "ethics"). So Sept 10 I will be an actual college graduate. Can't wait to no longer have homework gnawing at me every day. Counting the days now.

Mom and I are no longer moving, for the time being. So all the new boxes we ordered for our move remain un-put together and gathering dust on our porch. The broker continues to show the apt (another showing in 40 minutes) so we're just going to see what happens. With the market as it is now, we are not sure if it will sell as quickly as the landlord had hoped.

Work is okay. I was lucky enough to be offered a territory much closer to home. It's such a treat to be able to get there in 30 minutes or so. Hopefully the new and extra time and energy will result in extra sales and therefore extra money!

Kelly has updated her BLOG - isn't she just beautiful at almost 8 months preggers? She and Jon are more active and social at 8 months' pregnant than Rich and I ever are!

Abby's doing well. It's flea season, hot and humid (for us) so we have to just treat the dogs and our apartment to anti-flea solutions as much as possible but we kind of have to wait till the weather cools to really see the dogs become more comfortable.

Here's a picture of Abby as she is most mornings when I wake up. She's perched on the sofa in my room watching the world go by and waiting for a dog to go past so she can bark (but I have a spray bottle handy to deter her from doing that - and Abby knows I have it).

Speaking of dogs, Dad's pup Bella is growing big and beautiful, here she is looking out the window:

and finally...my most recent reviews:

The Bourne Ultimatum: very enjoyable. Best seen if you've seen the first two.
Stardust: entertaining but can easily be a rental
Big Brother 8: so enjoyable and frustrating. I'm rooting for America's Player, Eric! He gave his "woobie" to Jessica. Awww.
Top Chef: So different from Hell's Kitchen (which I also enjoyed, wished Bonnie had won) and I just love this show.
Forensic Files: still in my top ten favs
Deadliest Catch: got Rich the 1st season on DVD and watching it from the start has made me appreciate the series so much more

My Charitable Broker...

Am in Phoenix for a few days to get my "Marti fix". I haven't hung out with my soul sister, Marti, in such a long time so have come out for a few days and just hanging with her!

Today, we were able to meet up with an old friend (from high school actually), August, for lunch and I have to share that if I lived in Arizona and was interested in buying/selling a home, she's the one I'd go to - without hesitation. She's professional, knowledgeable, conscientious, experienced and just a fantastic person. And she's got this innovative and amazing promise that is on her website, "10% of my commission goes to your favorite charity." How AMAZING IS THAT?? So if you are in Arizona, keep her in mind! www.augustforhomes.com

Time flies when you're having fu---well, time just flies

So long since last entry. I wish I could say I had a good reason but it just got away from me. Here's what's shakin'...

Work: changing territories - my new territory is much closer to home and after meeting with my predecessor (who's relocating back east), it's quite exciting how much easier it will be to do my job.

School: beginning my LAST CLASS...I will have that degree very soon and I am ready for it.

Home: we're not moving anymore. Or at least not for now. We decided (and were able with our landlord's agreement) to just hang here while he tries to sell. That way we can hopefully get a few months more to see where we are at and what we need.

Family: everyone's well. Dad's a truck driver!

Love: Rich is awesome!

Other: can't fall asleep these days. Does anyone know of any natural sleep remedies?
