A whole lot of not much going on

It's been a week or more since I posted and I do feel the celebrity pressure to keep you somehow interested (or at least checking the this BLOG).

Everything is fine, not much going on. Let's see if I can pull out anything new or interesting...

Dad is in the Ukraine visiting his wife. They're having some success moving the visa application forward for her and her daughter. Apparently it's springtime weather there.

Starting a Yoga glass tonight. Yeah, that's right. Mom and I signed up for biweekly yoga classes through the city of Redondo Beach. It's twice a week for 10 weeks. Tonight is the first night so feel free to place wagers on whether we'll make it to the 2nd class or if we cancel before then.

Between work (such as it is!), school (yeah, back in class...will I ever graduate) and these new yoga classes, I don't have as much time to watch my friend Telly. But I can say that I am so glad some TV series are now on DVD.

●I bought Battlestar Gallactica (based on Eric's and Howard Stern's glowing recommendation) but haven't watched it yet. Rich and I have renting the first season of Deadwood (an HBO series) and that's been interesting. The language really is as graphic as you may have heard, but it's entertaining.

●Heroes came back on last night, haven't watched it yet but really look forward to it.

●Armed and Famous was a huge disappointment. Not enough of a train wreck and on the other side, not serious enough. They couldn't seem to find what they were going for.

●HGTV is my go-to channel. If all else fails, House Hunters or Designed to Sell is entertaining.

●Top Chef still rocks. Then they have a Top Chef/Project Runway'esque show starting soon - it's about design of some kind - interior?

●Amazing Race & Survivor return in February - yay!

●Haven't seen Dreamgirls and don't ever intend to. But have see The Good Shepard (interesting) and Volver (entertaining). Rented Crank -entertaining and trippy.

Abby is great - she's just the best.

Not sure what else to say - but a silly post is probably better than no post?

Also, JACI - when's your birthday? Have I missed it?

The Girls

Went to the dogpark with Abby and Zoe (Rich's dog) yesterday. Neither of them have yards, so it seems harmless to allow, and even encourage hold-digging at the park.

Abby the Barker and Zoe the Destroyer, post hole digging (lower left of picture) and tired.

Happy New Year!

Here are the movies Rich and I watched over New Years in the order of best to worst, the worst being SO much worse than the others:

  1. Little Miss Sunshine (thank you Aunt Sonora and Uncle Jim for this present!)
  2. The Descent (definitely scary!)
  3. Jet Li’s Fearless (interesting, deep and action-packed…and thank goodness Jet Li doesn’t speak ANY English in it otherwise it’d be way down on the list).
  4. The Last Kiss (kind of She’s Having a Baby meets Garden State meets The Big Chill)
  5. Artie Lange’s Beer League (I enjoyed it more with the commentary)
  6. Snakes on a Plane (okay, we didn’t get to watch this one, but I did watch the Special Features and those alone beat out The Black Dahlia).
  7. The Black Dahlia (you could not PAY me to sit through this a 2nd time).
